In the past five years or so, I have avoided watching melancholic works. This is because I tend to feel even more depressed when exposed to somber content. is undoubtedly a gloomy piece, and for this reason, I refrained from watching it for a long time. However, with its availability on Netflix, I ended up watching it almost involuntarily.

As expected, it’s an outstanding piece of work, possessing excellent acting, scriptwriting, direction, and music. Despite having different writers and directors, it could be seen as a prequel to the Dark Knight series.

After watching this movie, my thoughts about social welfare policy deepened even more than the movie itself. When we spend our budget on welfare, it is not just for the underprivileged. It is also for everyone else, including the rich. This is because crime will decrease only if we save the underprivileged. In real-life news, you can see various incidents similar to <Joker>. This happens because they are marginalized people. If our social safety net had provided them with mental health care earlier, provided them with better education, or provided them with more warmth in a variety of other ways, we would see a significant decrease in those types of “don’t-ask-why” crimes. . We need to pay more attention to welfare.

<JOKER> was not only an exceptional piece of cinema in terms of artistic merit but also a remarkable work that provoked deep contemplation. Great!

최근 5년 정도는 우울한 작품들은 보지 않고 있었다. 우울한 작품을 보면 더 우을해지는 경향이 있기 때문이다. <조커>도 우울한 작품인 것이 확실해서 오랜 시간동안 보지 않고 있었다. 하지만 이번에 넷플릭스에 풀리며, 거의 반강제로 보게 되었다.

역시 듣던대로 뛰어난 작품이다. 뛰어난 연기, 각본, 연출, 음악을 가지고 있는 작품이다. 각본/감독은 다르지만, 다크나이트 시리즈의 프리퀄로 봐도 무방할 것 같다.

이 영화를 보고, 영화 자체보다도 사회 복지 정책에 대한 생각이 깊어졌다. 우리가 복지에 예산을 사용하는 것은 소외계층만을 위한 것이 아니다. 그것은 부자를 포함한 나머지 모든 인원들을 위한 것이기도 하다. 소외계층을 구해내야 범죄가 줄어들기 때문이다. 현실의 뉴스에서도 <조커>와 비슷한 다양한 사건들을 볼 수 있다. 그들이 소외된 사람들이기 때문에 벌어지는 일들이다. 만약 우리의 사회 안전망이 좀 더 일찍 그들에게 정신병과 관련된 의료 혜택을 제공했거나, 더 충분한 교육을 제공했거나, 그 외에도 다양한 방법을 통해 보다 더 따뜻함을 제공했다면, 그런 일종의 “묻지마” 범죄는 확연히 줄어들 것이다. 복지에 더 신경을 많이 써야 한다.

<조커>는 영화로써 작품성도 뛰어났지만, 이처럼 많은 생각을 하게 만드는, 훌륭한 작품이었다. Great!
